Authentic family dining in style
Corsica is famous for its produce and wine, and there is no better way of enjoying a uniquely Corsican gastronomic experience than an intimate private lunch or dinner at Restaurant Le Frère. Run by the Abbatucci brothers, Henri and Jacques, the restaurant is hidden away in their beautiful family vineyard amid the forested Corsican hills.
The brothers are renowned in the culinary world for their passion for locally produced food and wine, and delight in creating a unique menu of local and seasonal fare for visiting yacht charter guests, paired with Corsican wines produced by the family’s third sibling Jean Charles. Be sure to try the organic “tiger” veal, which is from an ancient Corsican breed named zainetta.
Although it is located just an hour’s drive from Ajaccio, in the rustic heartland of south-west Corsica, a helicopter landing site can be arranged to whisk you straight from your charter yacht to the restaurant.
For the perfect afternoon amid the buzzing cicadas and arboretums, with rustic linen flapping gently in the breeze, take the short helicopter ride up to Restaurant Le Frère where Henri and Jacques will be waiting to give you a tour of the vineyard and family estate. This is followed by a private dining experience covering the full raft of Corsican delicacies, from courgette flower beignets to various cuts of the family veal and a vast array of the island’s charcuterie and cheeses, all accompanied by local wines and with a live band to perfectly set the mood. There is no better way to get a taste of true Corsican heritage.
