In a further development of the company’s full-service offering to clients, YACHTZOO’s Yacht Management department has been granted a Document of Compliance by the UK and Cayman Island flags.

This certification from these major flag states, which are two of the most prolifically used registries in luxury yachting, means that YACHTZOO’s clients can now receive the full scope of yacht management services in-house from YACHTZOO teams in Monaco and Fort Lauderdale.

It is particularly relevant to those yachts requiring a Certificate of Compliance with Large Yacht Code (Large Yacht Code) and a Safety Management Certificate (ISM Code), in many cases in order to be able to charter. It was awarded after a series of audits from the registries, and the company will be assessed annually to ensure it is upholding its operational standards.

“This is a major step forwards in the development of our in-house Yacht Management services at YACHTZOO,” said David Peano, head of the department. “It gives us more control over the continuity of how the management services are executed, so we can be sure that every aspect of our clients’ experience is true to the YACHTZOO philosophy.”

Peano is YACHTZOO’s Company Security Officer (CSO) as well as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and a technical superintendent. He joined the team earlier this year, having worked at another superyacht management company for four years. With a background in the merchant marine, he was a captain of large commercial vessels for five years before bringing his exceptional maritime operational skills and regulatory knowledge into yachting.

YACHTZOO’s Yacht Management department is located on both sides of the Atlantic. Peano joined Celine Effray, Yacht Manager and Deputy DPA, in the Monaco office, while the Fort Lauderdale office’s Yacht Management team includes Technical Superintendent Deryck Fullwood and Yacht Manager Rachel Morris.

With yacht managers and technical management personnel situated in each location, YACHTZOO’s yacht management clients can expect a round-the-clock continuity in service in case of emergency.
